Anyone who has experienced Oktoberfest in Munich knows the meaning of
"Gemütlichkeit!," the phrase which embodies the joy and vitality of the traditional
German celebration. The Bavarian Flavors German Band captures that spirit of
Gemütlichkeit and they've been delighting audiences in colleges, city parks, and
festivals around the Southeast for over ten years.
The group was a favorite at the Atlanta Symphony's
Beethoven Summerfests, where it delighted audiences in the Atrium hall. It
was also featured at the Biltmore International Exposition in Asheville, NC,
and at the Centennial Gateway Pavilion during the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
Featuring accordionist Susan Clearman, this lively and talented band is available in three configurations. The Bavarian Flavors Quartet is its most popular: clarinet/saxophone, trumpet, accordion and of course, tuba. Trio and Duo groups are also available. Sporting authentic German lederhosen and dirndl outfits, the band's repertoire is a treasure trove of traditional folksongs and dance tunes that truly reflect the Germans' zest for living and love of nature.
Its vast and diverse repertoire includes: German folk songs and popular music; toe-tapping marches, snappy schottisches, merry rheinlanders and boisterous polkas; plattler, ländler, mazurkas and gliding waltzes.

LES FLAVEURS - French Band
Les Flaveurs French Band presents a delightful program of music that conveys the soul of French music, with its romance, artistic richness, and "joie de vivre!" The tunes alternately evoke scenes of charming sidewalk cafes, smokey cabaret shows, or pastoral Gallic countryside.
The group's chanteuse is Elise Witt, who lovingly caresses the poetic French lyrics as she sings and plays the guitar. Born in Switzerland, and now residing in Atlanta, Elise is known nationwide for her warmth, rapport with audiences of all ages, and rich gleanings from international music. On accordion, Susan Clearman provides the haunting, shimmery sounds of the musette, a quintessentially French timbre. Additional musicians on flute, saxophone, violin and bass complete the ensemble, journeying between the French jazz club and folk traditions.
